Lipscomb
Lipscomb is a university with many undergraduate and graduate programs. The College of Engineering offers many engineering bachelor’s degree programs which are Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer engineering. From the school of computing, Lipscomb offers Computer science, Software engineering, Cybersecurity, and Information technology. Two new programs Lipscomb introduced recently are the Applied Artificial Intelligence M.S. and Graduate Certificate.
Lipscomb is one of many BEST Robotic Hubs. The hub provides many resources to students and buys the equipment and distributes it to the teams. Lipscomb provides a boot camp that teaches students to design different aspects of the competition. This boot camp is just an introduction to the project. Lipscomb must also develop the playing field and provide Allen arena for the day of the competition. They do this with the help of student volunteers. The hub’s responsibility with the help of sponsors is to provide schools with all the resources they need for the BEST robotics competition completely free.

Through its Nissan Neighbors grant program, Nissan contributes funds and resources to make BEST robotics happen every year. In addition to financial support, Nissan provides guest mentors for some of the robotics teams that participate in Music City BEST. These mentors consist of professionals from engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, finance and purchasing backgrounds, and they eagerly give their time to help future generations of innovators. On competition day, Nissan employees volunteer in various capacities, from assisting with set up to judging presentations, and even helping to document the competition by capturing photos and videos.
Tennessee Valley Robotics stems from TVA, Tennessee Valley Authority. TVA provides electricity, recreation, and environmental stewardship to about 10 million people in the Tennessee Valley region. TN Valley Robotics aims to encourage more engineers. Not only does TN Valley Robotics sponsor BEST Robotics, but they also sponsor six other engineering programs across Tennessee and neighboring states. TN Valley Robotics provides resources to the schools and programs that need it the most. The founder Charley Spencer, with almost 40 years of experience with accounting, sculpts what is required by schools and programs. Spencer knows everything a school is lacking in advance and provides the school with the necessary resources for a program.
